ILLUSTRATIVE PROPOSAL · NO MEASUREMENTS

A document request passes through one gateway

For a documentation maintainer asking which entities handle a request, use a topology. This synthetic example contains three conceptual entities; it describes no deployed system. Replace its facts before reuse.

Relationships and takeaway

  1. The reader sends a document request to the documentation request gateway.
  2. The gateway fetches the requested document from the published document store.

Boxes represent an actor, a service, and a store at conceptual scope. Solid orange arrows show the focal request direction; orange does not imply verification. The surrounding well is a decorative frame, not an ownership or security boundary. Node sizes fit labels and encode no capacity.

Takeaway: the gateway mediates this proposed request path. Responses, authentication, caching, retry/timeout behavior, and deployment boundaries are omitted and unspecified; infer none of them from this overview. Latency, throughput, observation period, and production evidence are unknown.
